Rocco spends a lot of time outside at Salt Lake dog parks and trails. With spring weather right around the corner, Rocco wanted to find a portable dog water bottle with a bowl for his adventures. He tried the Lixit Thirsty Dog Portable Sport Bottle for Dogs from Petco. This was a good water bottle for dog walks and rides in the car.
Unfortunately, Rocco is rough with his things and quickly made the portable sport bottle into his new toy. Rocco managed to puncture a hole in the pop-top spout, but it didn’t seem to effect the overall function of the bottle or bowl.The flexible dog bowl is attached to the neck of the portable dog bottle and sits snuggly against the bottle. The dog bowl flips inside out when it’s ready to use. Unless the bowl is full, it can be unsteady. The bowl worked better when it was held vs. being on the ground.
Additionally, Rocco’s snout is fairly large and was somewhat clumsy in the dog bowl. It may be difficult for breed’s with larger snouts to maneuver the product. The instructions state to fill the portable bottle till full, which did cause leaking from the top. Overall, the portable dog water bottle and bowl were adequate for the price. It is sufficient for longer outings when a bottle and bowl are more convenient.
The portable water bottle was $9.99. The bottle carries 20 oz of water. The bottle’s mouth features a wide opening that could fit ice cubes on hot days. The water bottle also featured a lanyard for hands-free carrying. The instructions on the back of the wrapper are easy to understand. The bottle is not dishwasher safe (reviews cite leaking after dishwashing.)
